Kyra Cheng Jiaying

Kyra was from Singapore and Shanghai and moved over to London 2 years ago to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Management at the LSE, having developed a fascination for businesses. Kyra attended the AIC as a delegate for the past 2 years out of her keen interest to learn more about the alternative investment space, and was extremely impressed by the quality of speakers, the calibre of fellow delegates and the breath and depth covered throughout the intense 2 days. Hence, she decided she wanted to join the team behind making AIC possible. Kyra is incredibly excited to be leading AIC's new venture Campus Events, to initiate and expand AIC's on-campus engagement beyond the short 2 days and build a strong community of like-minded passionate students. Kyra envisions to do so through organising a series of high-quality events consisting of both in-depth panel discussions covering the Private Equity, Venture Capital, Hedge Fund and Asset Management industries, and also socials to encourage the forging of more personal relationships. Kyra has completed multiple internships in finance, most recently at Citi's TMT Investment Banking team, Global Founders Capital's VC team and previously at BDA Partner's Generalist Investment Banking team and spring weeks at Blackstone, Barclays, Nomura and Fidelity International. In parallel, she is also extremely passionate about empowering women and giving back to the community, and had the honour of taking up leadership positions as the President of the LSE Women in Business Society and Vice President (Social Projects) of Enactus LSE, giving her the capacity to drive changes for these pressing issues. Outside of work, Kyra's current favourite podcast is "How to Own The Room" by Viv Groskop (must hear for learning from lots of inspiring women), recently learnt horse-riding (a childhood dream), loves playing her Chinese instrument Pipa (which has been with her since 8 years now), and is absolutely adores brunching and travelling with friends!
