Background:
Stefano Loreti joined GoldenTree in 2018 after being Head of Alternative Credit Strategies for Hayfin, one of Europe's leading alternative asset management firms. He also worked for Cairn Capital, an alternative credit asset manager.
In 2000, GoldenTree was founded based on the principles of fundamental value investing, with investments designed with the intent to preserve and grow the investors’ capital. It is an employee owned asset management firm, where all employees have a significant and meaningful stake in the business, and particularly focuses on credit in sectors such as high yield bonds, leveraged loans, distressed debt, structured products, emerging markets, private equity and credit-themed equities.
Mr Loreti heads the European Structured Products division. Structured products are investments linked to an underlying asset class, such as equities, and generate a defined return for a defined risk. These products are generally tied to an index or basket of securities, and are designed to facilitate highly customized risk-return objectives. In the UK, Autocalls, which are linked to an equity index, have been the most popular structured product. However, most structured investments have credit risk to a financial issuer of the securities, usually a global bank.
Stefona Loreti holds a Master's Degree in Economics from Luiss Guido Carli University (Rome, Italy), cum laude.
