Jim Breyer

Jim Breyer has had one of the most successful careers in the venture capital industry, serving as both a managing partner of Accel, as well as the founder and CEO of Breyer Capital. Throughout his career, Breyer has invested in many businesses that returned well over 100 times their cost, as well as dozens which have increased in value by more than 25 times.

One of Breyer’s most notable successes was in the social media giant Facebook, in a deal which saw Accel return over $1 billion in profit from its initial investment. At the time of its IPO, Accel was Facebook’s largest shareholder after Mark Zuckerberg, owning 11% of the company.

Mr Breyer has also acted as a director or board member of numerous companies, including The Blackstone Group, The Walt Disney Company, 21st Century Fox, and Facebook. In addition, Breyer sevres as a member of various World Economic Forum Committees, as well as the Council on Foreign Relations.

Mr Breyer received a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stanford, and later earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. He also sits on the Board of the Dean's Advisors of Harvard Business School and is a founding member of the Harvard University Global Advisory Council.
