Background:

Mr. Ganguly founded B Capital Group in 2015 with Eduardo Saverin, Co-Founder of Facebook, and Howard Morgan, Co-Founder of Renaissance Technologies. B Capital aims to bridge the divide between corporate lenders, who are often too large to innovate quickly, and groundbreaking entrepreneurs, who often lack critical resources during early stages of growth.

B Capital invests in B2B startups across four technology-enabled areas: Enterprise Technology and Consumer Enablement, Fintech and Insurtech, Transportation and Industrial and HealthcareTech and Bio IT. The team aims to invest in transformative companies when they are poised for rapid growth and acceleration, typically occurring in Series B or Series C rounds and in quantities of $10 to $50 million.

B Capital has a unique partnership with Boston Consulting Group which allows it to leverage the consulting firm’s extensive client network to connect start-ups with the corporate ecosystem. Additionally, BCG’s expertise over B Capitals investment areas allows the firms to work jointly in identifying innovative and scalable opportunities.

Prior to B Capital, Mr. Ganguly was a Managing Partner of Velos Partners, a global venture growth firm. Mr. Ganguly also served as Senior Vice President at Bain Capital, where he focused on driving growth and operational improvements across portfolio companies and served as the co-leader of the firm’s global technology initiative.

Mr. Ganguly began his career in consulting as a Senior Analyst at Marakon Associates. Consequently as Senior Engagement Manager in the Technology, Media and Telecom practice of McKinsey & Company, Mr. Ganguly acted as interim executive of British food and beverage giant Diageo. Additionally, Mr. Ganguly was part of the early team of Miradiant, one of the first internet payment startups.

Mr. Ganguly earned a BAS at the University of Pennsylvania, BSE at the Wharton School with Summa Cum Laude Honors, and MBA from Harvard Business School.
